I started this blog one year ago, after several years of going home from work, day after day to an empty house. I was tired of cooking wonderful meals that I ate by myself and packing up the leftovers for my husband. In December ’18 I decided to start this blog as a hobby, to quiet a nagging voice inside my head to be creative again and to be productive. It went live in January 2019! I did several things I never thought I’d have the courage to do in addition to this blog! I started using Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram and posting on Facebook, and went to two WordPress events. I’ve always been hesitant to post about myself or my life, but when it comes to recipes and books, I find that I enjoy it!

Have you ever heard of Sopa Tarasca? Do you cook your own black beans from dried beans? Do you like bacon? Silly question! Everyone likes BACON right? I’ve been quiet over the holidays and I’m sorry, but I think everyone will forgive me once they try this recipe for Baconny Black Bean Tomato Soup!
Well, actually it’s my weeknight Instant Pot version of Grandma’s Spinach & Meatballs.
It all started several years ago, at least a decade ago, on Thanksgiving, or maybe it was Easter? Anyway, I woke up sick as a dog… a fever, laying on the couch with an ice bag on my head sick. Husband called his parents to let them know we wouldn’t be going to family dinner, even though I told him to go without me. That’s true love folks! I don’t recall the conversation he had with his mom, but it required pen, and paper, and prompted him to go to the store.

I started this blog in January 2019, and in the nine months of its existence of this blog, this post, “The Year of Soup” is still my top-liked post by viewers. Therefore, I have updated and re-posted it for you.
