Hello! My name is Hollie. Cooking and eBooks are two of my most favorite things!

Over the past few years, I have found myself scouring the internet for recipes that work leftover. My husband and I worked different shifts, so I would cook dinner for us one night, and I eat alone, then the next night my husband had it for dinner, at work. The poor thing always had leftovers for dinner. Except on the weekends, when we tried to have dinner every night together! Our favorite meal together is salmon Sunday!

I started this blog a year ago, after several years of going home from work, day after day to an empty house. I was tired of cooking wonderful meals that I ate by myself, packing up the leftovers up for my husband. In December ’18 I decided to start this blog as a hobby, to quiet a nagging voice inside my head to be creative again and to be productive. It went live in January 2019! I did several things I never thought I’d have the courage to do in addition to this blog! I started using Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. I started posting on Facebook and went to two WordPress events. I’ve always been hesitant to post about myself or my life, but when it comes to recipes and books, I find that I enjoy it!

I spend a lot of time reading, cooking, and gardening. For many years I designed eBooks for an online eBook company, however, the business has changed. I haven’t designed one in quite some time and I really miss it! I am still relatively new to blogging, so bear with me, as I have a lot to learn! As a visitor here, I envision that you will be part of a fantastic community. I am hoping this will become a place where people like me can go to get and share ideas about cooking, food novels, cookbooks, and more. Perhaps someday I can have other food bloggers visit and upload recipes that I can eventually turn into eBook cookbooks for them! I hope to find out from you if that’s something you would be interested in. I’m finding out all of the hidden cost of food blogging, I know how expensive eBook designers can potentially be, and I know how much work is involved in creating one. If I do offer the service, I do know that they would be simple, not full of complex image placement. Think more like an ebook “novel” where the text flows, not like a hard copy cookbook that you flip through fixed pages. I’m working on one in my free time to post or link to as an example. Please, comment or contact me if you are interested. I am still looking into software and a process of my own for design.

I started my career many years ago as a Biomedical Photographer, documenting all kinds of surgeries, wounds, procedures, devices, specimens, and preparing images for presentations. All the photographs you see are produced by me. I’m using an iPhone currently, but hopefully, I’ll be able to upgrade my digital camera soon. I have so many Nikon lenses that will be perfect for photographing the recipes I create! The eBookFoodie logo and character were created by a very talented 16-year-old high school student named Liz Cox!

Check back soon for recipes, gardening tips, links to my favorite online recipe sources, reviews of my favorite food novels, and more, as I build this site. I have so many recipes to share, from quick easy weeknight recipes, fridge and freezer finds, to weekend favorites, like our family secret spinach and meatballs, I’ve scoured the web and haven’t found anything like it! I’m safe to share it with you because I don’t follow the secret family recipe, or else I’d be in trouble, or even disowned!
