Starting the New Year with my “best of 2021” lists & a recap of my New Years eve and brunch
Happy New Year from eBookfoodie! Who knows what the new year will bring, but even if it looks as messy as our NYE dinner, looks can be deceiving 😋. I took the holidays off and a short break after the Cookie Contest and I’m happy to be back!
eBookFoodie has seen another year of growth with 40% more visitors than in 2020. I’ve learned so much and spent a lot of the year updating recipes, posts and pages for clarity mostly.
My goal for 2022 is to get more recipes developed, tested and posted for you! Scroll down for my 2021 “BEST OF 2021” lists from eBookFoodie and a recap of my New Years Eve and Day!

2021 went out with a messy but delicious oven-fried mozzarella-topped veal cutlet dinner with pan-fried ricotta Parmesan polenta, and my no-knead skillet cheese bread. I made this loaf with my favorite brand of cheese, Sartori BellaVitano and sharp white cheddar cheeses topped with BelGioioso mozzarella.

To carry on with the cheesy theme I added some creamed spinach with Parmesan. Then, we rang the new year in, like the party animals we are, with a bottle of (reduced calorie/alcohol) Yellowtail Pure Bright sauvignon blanc 😂🎉.

New Years Day brunch is always a must!
To start the new year off special on New Years morning, I dusted off my vintage Keurig one-touch milk frother. (Apparently it’s getting pretty old (a Christmas gift in 2011 I think) because its now so loud that it woke up my husband. OOPS!) It might be time to upgrade to a new one that froths hot OR cold milk! Maybe he’ll get me a new one for Valentines day if I keep waking him up with my vintage one. (hint hint) I highly recommend Silk Unsweet Coconut milk (like this) mixed with about 1/3 half & half. It froths great and stays frothy!

Then I whipped up some banana French toast. My bananas were overripe so I mashed them up with eggs a splash of milk, homemade vanilla, a grating of nutmeg, a pinch of cinnamon and baking powder. I’d never tried mashing the bananas up in the “batter” but it came out great!
